Another unique characteristic of the uniforms from this era was the topstitching.
Just as the jumpsuits and jackets had a row of topstitching ⅛" away from the shoulder seams on each side that ran the full length of the seam (except the neckline and armscye trims), so the vest had ⅛" parallel topstitching on each side of the shoulder seam (not extending onto the neckline and armhole trims).
