Tutorial, part 7 - Armhole Trim

For the Picard version of the vest, using your quilting/walking foot and gray thread, sew the armhole trim (piece Q) to the yoke ⅜" from the outer edge. Cut off any excess length of trim.

For the Sisko version of the vest, first stay stitch an inch or so in each direction of the to-be-mitered pivot.

Clip the seam allowance at the pivot, as close to the stitch line as possible.

Using your quilting/walking foot and gray thread, sew the armhole trim (piece Q) to the yoke ⅜" from the outer edge, pulling the armhole straight and pushing the excess fabric behind the foot at the pivot.

Cut off any excess length of trim.

The bottom of the armhole trim should exactly meet the top of the yoke trim at the pivot point (or at the side seam line on the Picard version).

Press the trim outward, away from the yoke.
